CHROMA & CRITICA

15 YEARS OF SYNAESTHETIC VISION

Magnani's works interpreted by Guido Folco

MIIT Museum is pleased to present “CHROMA & CRITICS | 15 Years of Synesthetic Vision | Magnani's Works Interpreted by Guido Folco.” A retrospective exhibition to celebrate 15 years of collaboration between Guido Folco and Enrico Magnani.

“Chroma & Criticism,” conceived and realized by Guido Folco and Kerstin Petrick, presents the work of Enrico Magnani with a focus on the artist's evolution from the perspective of the art critic and historian. An artistic path, Magnani's, that has been able to combine art, science and spirituality, tracing a path that is absolutely unique and outside any pre-established scheme.

The exhibition offers a selection of iconic works created by the artist between 2010 and 2024, each accompanied by in-depth information panels that testify, year after year, to the rich and profound dialogue between the artist and the critic. Visitors will be able to follow Magnani's stylistic evolution-accompanied by Guido Folco's texts-from the earliest material works, dense with textures, to the lightest cosmogonic works, amid fluorescence and phosphorescence that evoke the depths and mysteries of deep space. A path that led Magnani to explore, in a sort of ideal journey, first the earth and then the cosmos, always with an eye to the role of man as spectator and protagonist of this continuous change.

Also on display is a rich collection of historical materials-including articles, journals, catalogs and documents from shared exhibitions-that will allow visitors to immerse themselves in a retrospective that spans many of the major cities of Europe and the United States: an itinerary both geographic and artistic among galleries, museums and venues of international prestige.

Magnani confirms himself as an artist of multifaceted and innovative talent with his relentless research and ability to embrace multiple forms of expression; a talent that has now won major international recognition, establishing him as an influential voice in contemporary art. A fundamental role in this journey was played by Guido Folco, who was able to translate the visual language of art into words, making complex concepts accessible and helping the public to understand and appreciate Magnani's work.

The opening of the exhibition will take place at the MIIT Museum in Turin, located at Corso Cairoli 4, on March 7, 2025, starting at 6 p.m. The event, open to the public, will feature a dialogue between the artist and the critic, offering an opportunity for encounter and reflection involving artists, critics and art lovers.

The exhibition will be open to the public from March 8 to 18, 2025, with opening hours Tuesday through Saturday from 3:30 to 7:30 p.m. and by appointment for guided tours, groups and school groups.
